The lifeless body of a young seamstress, around 25 years old, identified by the initials E. A., was found at the bottom of a well nearly 60 meters deep in a home in the Tabadé neighborhood.

Due to the technical constraints of the structure, which has a diameter of 1.30 meters and contains water, the departmental branch of the Beninese Civil Protection Agency (ABPC) in Bohicon deployed a specific setup.

After a thorough reconnaissance and securing of the area, seven rescue agents and a medical post were mobilized to establish a secure descent and ascent system. The team managed to recover the body after a particularly delicate operation.

Observations and Administrative Follow-up

The report was drawn up on-site by Évangéline Alapini, a nurse at the Avogbanan Health Center. The body was then handed over to the police and the victim’s relatives.

The initial information from the ABPC suggests a voluntary act; the young woman reportedly jumped into the well, although the exact motivations for her action remain unknown.
