Benin: a seven-year-old child narrowly saved from a fall into a 30-meter well in Sèhouè

A tragedy was narrowly avoided this Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in the village of Aclonmè, located in the Sèhouè district. A young boy of about seven years old accidentally fell into a 30-meter deep well. The child was rescued thanks to the prompt intervention of those present at the scene.

According to details from Libre Express, the rescue operation proved particularly perilous due to the presence of mills inside the well. Despite these major obstacles, the improvised rescuers managed to extract the young victim safe and sound. Following this incident, which could have turned into a tragedy, the district chief made an urgent appeal to the local population, urging them to take all necessary measures to properly secure their wells to prevent similar accidents.
