Scale of sanctions and institutional scope

Initiated after an official notification sent between the presidents of the two parliamentary chambers, the procedure includes a range of disciplinary measures:

• Temporary or permanent prohibition from participating in parliamentary proceedings.
• Revocation of political rights, resulting in the automatic loss of deputy status.

This framework thus provides the Senate with an unprecedented lever of authority within the Beninese institutional landscape.
