World Cup 2026: Carlo Ancelotti warns Neymar and Vinicius
Brazil’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, reminded that only players in impeccable form will be picked for the 2026 World Cup, casting doubt over Neymar and Vinicius Jr.’s presence on his list.

Brazil’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, sent a clear message to his stars: Neymar and Vinicius Jr. won’t be guaranteed to play at the 2026 World Cup. In an interview with Esporte Record, the Italian coach reiterated the requirement that will guide his choices when picking his squad.
« I have to select only players who are 100%. It’s not just Neymar, it can also concern Vinicius », he warned, stressing the fierce competition up front. « If Vinicius is at 90%, I’ll pick another player who’ll be at 100%. We have an enormous amount of attacking talent. »
Since taking charge of the Seleção last summer, Ancelotti hasn’t called up Neymar, who has therefore missed eight consecutive matches with Brazil. A strong signal, with less than two years to the World Cup.
