The American international had just played with the Washington Spirit against Boston Legacy. After her team’s 3-0 defeat, she hit the road to Arthur Ashe Stadium, arriving during the fourth set, according to Reuters and the Associated Press.

Rodman appeared in the stands wearing a t-shirt featuring Shelton’s face. Cameras captured her as the American player attempted to extend his first Grand Slam final against Alexander Zverev.

However, her arrival did not change the course of the match. Zverev won the final 6-3, 7-6 (2), 5-7, 6-2. During the trophy presentation, the German joked about Rodman’s late arrival, referring to her as his opponent’s lucky charm.

Shelton acknowledged the effort made by the soccer player to be present after her own match. The couple made their relationship public in March 2025 and frequently appear in the stands to support each other’s athletic careers.

Rodman had already attended several of Shelton’s matches during the New York tournament, including his quarter-final victory against Carlos Alcaraz. On Sunday, she reached the stadium before the conclusion of the fourth set.
