Rural electrification in Benin: The government approves agreements to supply electricity to twelve localities.

This program aims to provide electricity to populations that are not yet connected to the national electricity grid. The targeted areas include Ahogbèya in the Klouékanmè commune, Godohou in Aplahoué, Tchito in Lalo, and Gbakpodji in the Bopara commune.

The initiative also includes the Avloh center in Grand-Popo, as well as Ahokanmey, Gobax, and Setto in Djidja. Finally, in the municipality of Abomey, the locality of Akouessa has been selected, while Avlamé, Koussoukpa, and Kpokissa will benefit from the project in the municipality of Zogbodomey.

A key driver for boosting the local economy and transforming living conditions.

Beyond simply providing energy, the planned installations aim to permanently transform the daily lives of residents in these rural areas.

Access to electricity should serve as a catalyst for the development of income-generating activities within local households, thereby promoting the economic empowerment of the communities involved.
