Nations League: Haaland scores twice as Norway defeats Denmark 3-2
Erling Haaland scored two goals on Thursday in Oslo, leading Norway to a 3-2 victory over Denmark in their opening match of the Nations League. His second goal, in the 74th minute, proved decisive for the two Scandinavian neighbors.
Oscar Bobb opened the scoring before Haaland extended Norway’s lead to 2-0. Denmark fought back with a free kick from Mikkel Damsgaard, followed by a header from Rasmus Højlund at the hour mark.
Haaland restored Norway’s advantage with a combination play following a short corner. Norway finished the match with ten men after David Møller Wolfe was sent off in stoppage time, yet they held onto their lead.
This victory places Norway on three points in Group A4, alongside Portugal, who won 1-0 against Wales thanks to João Félix. The top two teams in the group will qualify for the quarter-finals.
