‘My job is still under threat,’ Otto Addo ahead of Ghana – Germany

The tension rose another notch after the heavy defeat to Austria (5-1) in a friendly match played last Friday, a setback that rekindled calls for his departure. But the coach refuses to bow to the surrounding pressure. “Even when we qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2026, some were already calling for my resignation. My job is still under threat, but I don’t care,” he said. A former assistant at Borussia Dortmund, Addo says he remains focused on the essentials: “For me, the most important thing is to prepare the team as well as possible.”

The coach now hopes for a display of pride from his players, expected to face Germany this Monday in Stuttgart (18:45 GMT), to close out this international window.
