CAF Cup: Sfaxien overturns Shooting Stars 2-0 to qualify
CS Sfaxien qualified for the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday, September 13, 2026. After losing 1-0 in the first leg to Shooting Stars in Nigeria, the Tunisian club turned the tie around with a 2-0 victory in Sfax, resulting in a 2-1 aggregate score over the two legs.

The Tunisians opened the scoring in the 27th minute through Belwafi, before doubling their lead in the 68th minute with a goal from Habchia. This second goal put Sfaxien ahead on aggregate and eliminated Shooting Stars, who failed to find the goal that would have allowed them to level the tie.
The Ibadan club had taken the lead in this two-legged tie on September 5 in Abeokuta, with Lucky Emmanuel scoring the only goal of the first leg in the 25th minute, giving the Nigerians a narrow advantage before traveling to Tunisia.
The 2-0 victory at Taïeb Mhiri Stadium allows CS Sfaxien to continue their continental campaign, while Shooting Stars exits the competition at the first preliminary round.
