Market: Ronaldinho comes out of retirement and joins Ravenna at 46 years old
Eleven years after playing his last official match, Ronaldinho is set to return to football. The Brazilian legend has signed with Ravenna, a club in the Italian Serie C, with a goal that is as symbolic as it is ambitious: to score the 300th goal of his career.

Ronaldinho is not done with football yet. At 46 years old, the former Ballon d’Or winner of 2005 announced on Thursday his return to competition by joining Ravenna, a third-division Italian club. Having been retired from the pitch since 2015, the Brazilian aims to bring his experience to a team that has great ambitions.
Officially presented by his new club, Ronaldinho kept the suspense regarding a possible appearance in a match. “Only the coach knows,” he explained, while assuring that he is in good physical condition. The Brazilian primarily harbors a personal dream: to reach the symbolic milestone of 300 goals. “If I could score my 300th goal, it would be even more remarkable,” he confided.
A Return to Sporting Ambitions
Owner of Ravenna since 2024, Ignazio Cipriani assures that Ronaldinho’s arrival is not just a mere publicity stunt. The Brazilian will also become a shareholder of the club.
Ravenna, which finished third in its Serie C group last season, aims for promotion to Serie B, a league it hasn’t been in since 2008. However, Ronaldinho will not participate in the opening match of the season against Reggiana.
