Mango skins and fish scales: Maison 3 Points embraces local materials

Titled “Destination Gabao,” the event is set to take place at the Palais des Congrès Omar Bongo Ondimba, located in the Cité de la Démocratie. The announced collection draws from various resources associated with Gabon, featuring dried and processed mango skins, atanga, sand, seashells, and fish scales.

This approach extends Doriane Leet Cooper Taty’s journey between Libreville and the United States. Trained in California in fashion design and business development, she previously worked with the Ed Hardy brand before returning to Gabon to launch Maison 3 Points in 2016.

The event will also serve as a launchpad for Discovery Fashion, a platform aimed at increasing visibility for African designers and facilitating connections among creators. The project is presented as a bridge between the fashion scenes of Libreville and Los Angeles, where the designer continues part of her work.

The runway show is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, starting at 7:00 pm. Admission is free, with a dress code of “Black & White Couture.” Musical performances by Mr Sima, Papé Nziengui, and Sokey are also included in the evening’s program.
