Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé reportedly played a role in Chelsea’s decision to pursue French midfielder Manu Koné, currently at AS Roma. According to Foot Mercato, Xabi Alonso, Chelsea’s coach, sought the opinion of his compatriot and former Real Madrid player before approving the move for the French international.
The London club reportedly added Koné to its list of potential midfield recruits following Enzo Fernández’s decision to leave Stamford Bridge. After two convincing seasons in Italy, Manu Koné has attracted the attention of several Premier League clubs. His performances with the French team during the World Cup have also helped boost his value on the transfer market.
