Record revenues, Manchester United reports £43 million loss for 2025-2026
Manchester United concluded its 2025-2026 financial year with a net loss of £43 million ($57.1 million), compared to a loss of £33 million the previous year. Costs related to transfers and the departure of Ruben Amorim impacted the accounts published on Wednesday, September 23.
Despite the absence of European competition, revenue reached a record £677.6 million, up from £666.5 million in the prior year. The club also reported an operating profit of £22.6 million, recovering from an operating loss of £18.4 million a year earlier, largely due to cost-cutting measures and workforce reductions.
Exceptional charges associated with Ruben Amorim’s departure and the restructuring amounted to £8.2 million. Since the 2023-2024 financial year, cumulative net losses have approached £190 million.
The return to the Champions League, secured by finishing third in the Premier League last season, allows the club to forecast revenues between £740 million and £760 million for 2026-2027. On the pitch, United currently sits in 12th place after five matches and has only one victory.
