Inter-Roma: Çalhanoğlu set to miss clash due to adductor injury

Hakan Çalhanoğlu is expected to miss Inter’s trip to face Roma on Saturday, September 19, after tests revealed a muscle injury to his right adductor. His absence comes ahead of a crucial match between the two teams that have both won all four of their Serie A matches so far.

Inter announced on Wednesday that the Turkish midfielder underwent examinations at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas in Rozzano. The club stated that his condition will be reassessed in the coming days, without officially specifying the duration of his unavailability.

The 32-year-old player had already missed the 5-3 victory against Udinese. He had previously scored in the first two matchdays of the season against Monza and Cagliari, before coming on against Napoli and returning to the starting XI against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Roma currently leads the league on goal difference after four matchdays, sharing the same perfect record as Inter. The encounter at the Stadio Olimpico will mark the first Serie A clash between two teams that have won their first four matches since Juventus-Roma in October 2014.
