Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo has weighed in on the eternal debate pitting Lionel Messi against Cristiano Ronaldo. In an interview given to the YouTube channel AwayDays, the Ghanaian international clearly expressed his preference for Inter Miami captain, whom he regards as superior to the Al-Nassr star.

Aged 25, Semenyo has, however, not minimized the legacy Cristiano Ronaldo has left, praising an incredible career and exceptional achievements at the highest level. “I do not belittle what Ronaldo has accomplished. What he has done is incredible. Both have left their mark on football history.”, he said.

Asked to choose without hesitation between the two legends, the Cherries’ striker was nevertheless categorical: “Messi 100%. Personally, I am a Messi fan.” Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, regarded as two of the greatest players of all time, are now in the twilight of their careers. The two icons of world football could, next year, be set to compete in what looks to be their final World Cup.
