AirBadminton: Benin defeats Mauritius 3-0 to claim gold in men’s triples

Mauritius earned its place in the final after a 3-2 victory over Egypt in the semifinals. Against the Beninese team, the Mauritians did not win a single game and left with the silver medal, according to Radio One Mauritius, which confirmed the 3-0 score.

This title comes just two days after Benin’s silver medal in Team Relay, achieved after a final loss of 60-57 to Egypt. This team performance had already secured the Beninese team’s qualification for the 2026 BWF AirBadminton World Championships.

The men’s triples final concluded a campaign held at Aero Beach in Entebbe. The African Championships brought together 14 countries and over 120 participants, according to the Badminton Confederation of Africa and the Ugandan Badminton Association.

The triples format, specific to AirBadminton, features three players on each side and is played in a best-of-five games format. The first team to win three games wins the match, which corresponds to the 3-0 result recorded by Benin against Mauritius in the final.
