University scholarships in Benin: application deadline extended
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the extension of the online application process for university scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the extension of the online application process for university scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Initially scheduled to end on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at midnight, the submission of applications is now possible until Friday, February 20, 2026 at midnight.
According to the ministry’s official note, this measure applies to all scholarship recipients enrolled in Benin’s public universities. The procedure continues exclusively online on the ministry’s dedicated platform, accessible at the address bourses.enseignementsuperieur.bj.
The MESRS also specifies that students who were unable to submit their application for the 2024-2025 academic year will, exceptionally, be granted access to the platform to regularize their situation. This opening aims to allow these students to catch up on their application, in compliance with the new deadlines set.
The ministry nevertheless reminds that online registration within the required deadlines remains an essential condition to receive a university scholarship. No application submitted after the deadline can be considered, stresses the ministerial authority, which urges the concerned students to complete the necessary formalities before the deadline.
This extension is part of the government’s goal to better address students’ concerns and to ensure equitable access to the university aid available for the current academic year.
