According to the early elements of the investigation, clients were offered high-end services, combining outings to the city’s nightlife venues, accommodation, and the presence of escorts. The investigations, conducted by the Guardia di Finanza under the authority of the Milanese prosecutor’s office, led to the house arrest of several individuals suspected of having structured this network. At the heart of the operation: an event-management company based on the outskirts of Milan, used as a front to organize these parties and recruit women to accompany the clients.
The investigators describe a well-oiled system, where the participants were housed on-site and paid for services at private events. The analyzed financial flows also reveal a lifestyle far beyond the officially declared income, suggesting illicit activities on a large scale. While no player’s name has been officially confirmed yet, this case could quickly tarnish Italian football. It highlights, once again, the potential abuses tied to certain circles of power and influence surrounding professional sport.
