Ned Nwoko: “Having only one wife is like standing on one leg”
Amid a marital crisis with Regina Daniels, Nigerian senator Ned Nwoko defends polygamy by saying that having only one wife is like “standing on one leg”.

Nigerian senator Ned Nwoko, husband of actress Regina Daniels, has once again made headlines. In the midst of the marital turmoil, the politician defended polygamy, presenting it as a form of stability for the married man. Guest on Sunday night on Channels TV, Nwoko said that “having only one wife is like standing on one leg”.
“Imagine being asked to stand on one leg: it’s difficult, unstable. But when you stand on two, three or four, you’re more balanced,” he explained, before adding: “I sympathize with those who have only one wife. I have no regrets and I would make the same choice again.”
These remarks come as the senator is going through a marital crisis with his fourth wife, Regina Daniels. In a video that went viral, the actress accused him of domestic violence, which the lawmaker denies, alleging on his part that his wife is suffering from substance abuse.
On Sunday night, Regina Daniels posted a photo of herself on the balcony of a house in Lagos, captioned with a sober message — “I needed a roof over my head”. A photo that fuels speculation about a possible departure from the marital home.
