Toni Kroos could soon rejoin Real Madrid, but in a role very different from the one he held on the pitch. According to The Athletic, the former German midfielder is in talks with the Madrid leadership with a view to joining the club’s organizational structure. Retired from the pitch after Euro 2024, the 2014 World Cup champion has since devoted himself to developing his Toni Kroos Academy, launched last autumn.
But Real Madrid would look kindly on the return of one of its emblematic figures, this time in a strategic role close to the sporting leadership. A path that could recall Zinedine Zidane’s, who became a club adviser in 2010 before taking the helm of the first team a few years later.
