Ivory Coast: Molaré seriously injured in a road accident in Abidjan
The iconic figure of coupé-décalé, Ivorian artist Molaré, was involved in a serious traffic accident this Tuesday, while he was riding in a three-wheeled vehicle in a bustling district of Abidjan. The incident also involved a passerby, who was directly hit by one of the vehicle’s rear tires.

Initial observations suggest that the vehicle lost control due to a mechanical failure. The collision resulted in significant injuries for both victims, who were immediately taken to a private clinic where they received first aid.
Molaré suffered multiple fractures to his left arm and needs to be urgently operated on. The passerby, meanwhile, remains under medical observation. Doctors are evaluating the need to transfer her to another facility based on changes in her condition.
A medical coordination unit has been set up to assure optimal follow-up. Molaré’s team asserts that everything is being done to ensure that both victims receive the best possible care.
In a statement released on his social networks, the artist wanted to reassure his fans and express his solidarity with the injured pedestrian:
“My only concern is the health and well-being of this woman. I will do everything in my power to support her recovery,” he wrote, before thanking the witnesses who provided valuable help at the scene of the accident.
