Florida woman accused of throwing bucket of feces on neighbor

Yirsi Esperanza Machado Rivera, 50, was arrested following an investigation and is now in custody. She faces charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling and battery, according to jail records reviewed by several local media outlets.

According to the arrest report cited by NBC Miami and People, the two women live in adjacent units of the same mobile home at Royal Country Mobile Homes in the northwest part of the county. The suspect allegedly knocked on her neighbor’s door, accused her of having an affair with her husband, and then entered without permission.

Investigators claim she pushed the resident before throwing the contents of the bucket at her. A witness reportedly told police that Machado Rivera had stated she prepared the container to aim at the neighbor’s face.

The accused disputes this account. She told detectives that she was using the bucket because her toilet was out of order and that she was trying to dispose of it after complaints about the smell. She denies entering her neighbor’s home or throwing the contents at her. She also claims she was struck in the head with a bat during the altercation.

Machado Rivera appeared before Judge Mindy Glazer on September 8. The allegations presented are charges and do not establish her guilt. The suspect is presumed innocent.

The magistrate ordered her to remain in custody without bail and prohibited any contact with the complainant. Machado Rivera was still in custody as of September 13 at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to online records reviewed by People.
