Benin Football Federation: Marcellin Bocovè elected new president
Marcellin Bocovè is officially the new president of the Beninese Football Federation (FBF). He was elected on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the end of the general elective assembly held at the Akpro-Missérété Excellence Centre. He succeeds Mathurin de Chacus for a four-year term running from 2026 to 2030.
The Beninese Football Federation has changed president. Marcellin Bocovè was elected on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, to lead the FBF, at the end of the general elective assembly held at the Akpro-Missérété Excellence Centre.
The new president won a wide majority in the delegates’ vote. Out of the votes cast, Marcellin Bocovè received 76 votes, with two abstentions and one blank ballot.
This election thus marks the end of Mathurin de Chacus’ mandate, after several years leading the Beninese Football Federation. Marcellin Bocovè now takes charge of the sport’s umbrella body for a four-year term, from 2026 to 2030.
The new executive will notably have to continue efforts to develop Beninese football, both at national-team level and in national competitions and training.
With this election, a new chapter therefore opens for the Beninese Football Federation, now led by Marcellin Bocovè until 2030.
