Cristiano Ronaldo has been left out of Portugal’s national team.
Suffering a hamstring injury, Cristiano Ronaldo will not participate in Portugal’s upcoming matches against Mexico and the United States.

Portugal will have to do without its captain for the upcoming international break. Cristiano Ronaldo, in the process of recovering after a muscular injury, was not selected for the upcoming friendly matches. Earlier this month, his coach at Al Nassr, Jorge Jesus, had confirmed that the striker had travelled to Spain to undergo a specific treatment for his hamstrings. Since then, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has missed several Saudi Pro League matches, notably against Neom and Al Khaleej, won by his team.

By mutual agreement between the club and the national team, it was decided not to take any risks. At 41, Ronaldo will continue his rehabilitation with a clear objective: to regain his full physical condition as the FIFA World Cup 2026 approaches. A prudent choice, dictated by a busy schedule and the ambition to see the Portuguese captain at the peak of his form at the global event.
