Benin: Senate members summoned to a meeting next Friday
The members of the Senate are convened on July 25 by the oldest member, President Nicéphore Soglo.

According to information from Bip Radio reported by L’Investigateur, the establishment of the new high parliamentary chamber is entering its decisive phase. The members of the Senate are therefore convened for a preparatory meeting on Friday, July 25, 2026.
This preparatory meeting, which will be chaired by former president Nicéphore Soglo, will allow for the official installation of the institution scheduled for Thursday, July 30, 2026.
According to the details provided by the former president of the Republic and oldest member, Nicéphore Dieudonné Soglo, the preparatory steps leading to the setting of the date of July 30 have been finalized.
This installation will officialize the functioning of the institution before the celebrations of the national holiday on August 1.
