Benin police seize large quantity of psychotropic drugs, arrest two foreign nationals

Two individuals of foreign nationality were arrested as they were preparing to leave the national territory.

The operation was carried out around 11:45 p.m. thanks to information used by law enforcement. The two suspects, with the initials F. D. (19 years old) and M. K. (26 years old), were on board a transport bus leaving for Mali.

A search of their luggage led to the interception of illicit cargo hidden in bags and a backpack. The seizure inventory includes:

• 1,099 pads 10 Tramaking tablets (225 mg);
• 650 pads of 10 Royal tablets (250 mg).

The products were immediately placed under seal. An in-depth investigation was opened in order to trace the chain, identify the ramifications of the network and determine the origin of these prohibited substances.
