Benin – Municipal Elections 2026: The Democrats launch the call for nominations
In anticipation of the communal and municipal elections scheduled for 2026 in Benin, the opposition party Les Démocrates enters a critical phase of its preparation.

Through an official announcement, the political formation informs of the opening of the candidacy submission period, set from June 18 to July 22, 2025.
Members wishing to put themselves forward as candidates are invited to submit their applications within the scheduled deadlines, in accordance with the criteria set by the party leadership.
True to its drive to promote equal opportunities, a quota of 30% is reserved for women, in order to guarantee better female representation in local governance bodies.
Through this operation, Les Démocrates aim to compile strong and competitive lists throughout the national territory, with the goal of significantly strengthening their presence in communal and municipal councils.
