Benin: Armand Kuyema Natta mobilizes teams to strengthen the performance of the educational system.

Accompanied by advisor Minister Paulin Gbenou, Armand Kuyema Natta met with departmental directors, heads of technical and central departments, as well as leaders of structures under the supervision of his ministry. The discussions focused on the functioning of services and the main challenges faced by actors in maternal and primary education.

In front of his department’s executives, the minister summarized his roadmap around two axes: “strengthen the achievements and innovate.” He called on teams to consolidate the results obtained in recent years while launching new initiatives to improve the education system. Presenting himself as “your servant,” he also emphasized the importance of regular dialogue with field leaders.

The minister notably praised the results recorded in the 2026 Primary Education Certificate (CEP) as well as the implementation of programs and monitoring-evaluation processes. According to him, the increase in pass rates should encourage leaders to maintain their efforts and strengthen existing frameworks at all levels.

Needs in Personnel and Equipment

The officials met expressed several difficulties on their part. They advocated for the recruitment of new teachers, the strengthening of initial and ongoing training for staff, as well as the provision of computer equipment for central and technical departments.

The relocation of services to the Ahossougbéta Administrative City was also discussed. Armand Kuyema Natta indicated that the government is working to realize this operation as soon as possible, without specifying the timeline or implementation methods.

The ministerial tour is set to continue on Thursday, July 30, in the departments of Atlantic and Littoral. It aims to allow the minister to continue discussions with local stakeholders and gather their concerns regarding the functioning conditions of the sector.
