Barça – Real Madrid: Kylian Mbappé uncertain for El Clásico, Thibaut Courtois back
Struck in the thigh, Mbappé remains highly uncertain for the showdown against FC Barcelona. The Frenchman must undergo decisive tests, while Real Madrid is expected to have their goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois back for this crucial clash.

Still at the center of the news, Kylian Mbappé is going through a mixed spell at Real Madrid. Criticized by part of the Spanish press after a trip to Italy with actress Ester Expósito, the French forward remains sidelined for medical reasons. Struck in the semitendinous tendon of the left leg, Mbappé was forced to withdraw during Madrid’s 2-0 win at Espanyol last weekend. The absence fuels uncertainties ahead of the clash against FC Barcelona.
According to several local sources, the 2018 World Cup champion’s participation in the upcoming Clásico remains in doubt. A new medical exam is scheduled for Wednesday, decisive for evaluating his chances of making the squad that will travel to Camp Nou. In this context, the Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa could however count on good news: the expected return of Thibaut Courtois. The Belgian goalkeeper, back from a right quadriceps muscle injury, should be fit for this decisive appointment in the title race.
