Alexandra of Hanover and Ben-Sylvester Strautmann announce engagement after ten years

The 27-year-old princess accompanied the images with a brief caption, “The marriage plot.” The first photo shows her alongside Ben-Sylvester Strautmann, while the subsequent images highlight the yellow diamond on her ring finger.

The couple has been together since 2016 and made their relationship official the following year. Ben-Sylvester Strautmann, also 27, was born in Germany and grew up in Monaco, where he notably played youth basketball.

Alexandra is the daughter of Caroline of Monaco and Prince Ernst August of Hanover. As the granddaughter of Grace Kelly and niece of Prince Albert II, she is in the line of succession to the Monegasque throne.

A former figure skater, she represented Monaco at the European Youth Olympic Games in 2015. Her skating career is frequently mentioned when she accompanies the royal family at sporting events.

The ring, designed by Antinori di Sanpietro, features a 4.8-carat yellow diamond surrounded by two triangular diamonds. The couple has not announced a date or location for the ceremony.
