Yan Diomandé expected to start with Real Madrid against Inter

Since his arrival in Madrid this summer, the most expensive player in the history of African football has been used cautiously by José Mourinho. The official Real Madrid website records four appearances in La Liga for him, all as a substitute, totaling 83 minutes and no starts.

The situation could, however, change against Inter. Several pre-match projections place the Ivorian international in the Madrid starting eleven, in a context where Arda Güler, Eduardo Camavinga, and Bernardo Silva are unavailable for this European debut.

The event is inevitably closely followed in Côte d’Ivoire. In just over a year, Yan Diomandé has gone from a young talent still little known to the general public to a major signing for Real Madrid. His official transfer to the Merengues in August confirmed this spectacular trajectory.

A first major European test in Madrid

Against Inter, a recent Champions League finalist, the challenge would be on another level. A start would give Diomandé the opportunity to further showcase his power play and his ability to break free in open spaces, two qualities that have marked his breakthrough in the Bundesliga and then with the Elephants.

Real Madrid has not yet announced an official starting eleven at the time of this publication. The presence of the Ivorian among the starters therefore remains a pre-match projection, and not definitively confirmed information.

This possibility arises one month after Diomandé explained why he had chosen Real Madrid. If he starts against Inter, the young forward will reach a new symbolic milestone in a career that has accelerated at a speed rarely seen for an Ivorian player of his age.
