Saudi Arabia: 73 Injured in Houthi Attacks on Four Cities

The Houthis, who control a large part of northern Yemen, claimed responsibility for the strikes. They present them as a response to an alleged Saudi attack on a prison in the Yemeni province of Al-Jawf. This accusation has not been independently verified, and Riyadh had not commented on the alleged strike at the time.

This sequence comes as clashes between Houthi rebels and government forces have intensified once again in Yemen in recent days, further weakening the truce that had reduced direct fighting for several years.

The increase in cross-border strikes heightens the risks of regional spillover around the Yemeni conflict, in a strategic area for oil markets and maritime routes in the Red Sea.
