FIFA held the draw for the 2026 World Cup this Friday in Washington. A draw that is not very kind to African teams.

Highly anticipated, the 2026 World Cup draw was conducted this Friday in Washington in the United States. A draw that sets up some big clashes. A big opportunity for Africa to win this trophy for the first time in its history, Morocco drew Group C, with Brazil, Scotland and Haiti. Placed in Group E, Ivory Coast will have its work cut out against Germany, Ecuador and Curaçao.

A perilous mission also for Senegal, which will face France, Norway and a play-off team in Group I. A more manageable draw for Tunisia, which faces the Netherlands, Japan and a play-off team in Group F. Same for Egypt, in Group G with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Belgium and New Zealand.
