Women’s AFCON 2026 (Q): Super Falcons ready to take on Benin

Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie said the Super Falcons were approaching their tie with Benin’s Amazons with confidence, ahead of the first leg of the qualifiers for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, to be held in Morocco.

The match will be played this Friday at the Kégué Stadium in Lomé, where the Beninese side will host their Nigerian neighbours. As title holders, the Super Falcons have been based in the Togolese capital since the start of the week to fine-tune their final preparations.

“The atmosphere is excellent. As soon as we learned we would face Benin, we started discussing the best way to beat them. We are ready, mentally and physically,” Nnadozie, Brighton’s goalkeeper, said at a press conference in Lomé. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. (Nigerian time).
