Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen lifted the curtain on the routines that accompany him before each time he steps onto the pitch. To put himself in the best possible state, the Nigerian international draws his energy from music.
Asked by the YouTube channel Smallie, the Super Eagles’ striker explained that he systematically immerses himself in Olamide’s tracks, as well as those of Nas and Damian Marley. “From a very young age, I knew I wanted to become a footballer,” he says. “Most of the time, I listen to Olamide. I also listen to Nas and Damian Marley; ‘Strong Will Continue’ keeps motivating me. ”
This last song holds a special place in his mental preparation : “It’s really a track that pushes me before a game, it’s part of my rituals.” And when it comes to Olamide, Osimhen even has a favorite track: King Shit. “Don’t worry about tomorrow, forget your sorrows…,” he quotes with a smile, admitting that those lyrics help him approach each match with calm.
