On the occasion of the UPR’s political kickoff for 2026, its president, Joseph Djogbénou, delivered a no-nonsense message to the party’s mayors.
After stressing punctuality, internal discipline, and strict adherence to political orientations, he refocused his intervention on a concrete topic: the state of the town halls.
According to Joseph Djogbénou, the town halls run by the UPR must reflect a common identity, founded on cleanliness, order, and impeccable organization.
Returning to the observations made during recent tours, he lamented the less-than-rosy state of some municipal infrastructures.
“Our town halls are dirty,” he lamented, calling on elected officials to wake up immediately.
For the UPR president, these public buildings must be immediately identifiable as symbols of municipal authority and administrative exemplarity.
“We must know that this is a town hall,” he asserted, inviting mayors to make these places true showcases of local public service.
Throughout the speech, the atmosphere remained studious, notably during the invocation of the principles of equity, the protection of public heritage, and the performance criteria expected of municipal executives.
The elected officials also took note of the various communications and the “ten recommendations” intended to structure municipal action under the party’s banner.
In conclusion, Joseph Djogbénou expressed the satisfaction of the UPR’s top political leadership, while reaffirming his confidence in the ability of elected officials to represent the party with dignity and to serve citizens effectively.
