Nigerian artist and dancer Iweh Odinaka, known by the stage name Poco Lee, has been charged with five sexual offenses in the UK. According to Arise News, the prosecution was upheld at Snaresbrook Crown Court, London. The artist is notably accused of attempted rape, two rapes as well as two sexual assaults with penetration. The alleged acts are now the subject of legal proceedings in the United Kingdom.

James Baker, head of the administrative team at Snaresbrook Crown Court, is said to have confirmed the existence of the accusations in correspondence with Nigerian media. At this point, these are charges, not a conviction. The legal procedure must determine the facts and the responsibilities of the artist, in accordance with the principle of presumption of innocence.

A well-known figure on the Nigerian cultural scene, Poco Lee was particularly noted for his dance performances and his collaborations with several major artists in the country’s music industry. The case is now in the hands of British justice, while the next stages of the procedure will clarify the charges against him and the follow-up that will be given to them.
