Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said he would have been sacked “within six months” if he had managed Real Madrid last season.

On the eve of the Champions League clash with the Merengues, the Catalan coach spoke at length about the pressure surrounding the coaching position at the Bernabeu, as Xabi Alonso goes through a difficult period and sees his future called into question.
