U20 Women’s World Cup: Nigeria beat Poland in friendly
The Falconets of Nigeria continued their preparation for the U20 Women’s World Cup with a victory against Poland (1-0) on Friday in Brzeg. Mary Mamud scored the only goal of the match in added time of the first period.

Nigeria’s Falconets recorded an encouraging victory in preparation for the U20 Women’s World Cup. The Nigerian selection won against Poland (1-0) on Friday at the Brzeg municipal stadium. The Nigerian players had to wait until the last moments of the first period to make the difference. Mary Mamud found the net in injury time, allowing the Falconets to go into the locker room with a valuable advantage.
Upon returning from the locker room, the two selections found themselves in several dangerous situations. Despite the opportunities on both sides, none managed to change the score. This victory allows Nigeria to continue its preparation on a positive note before the start of the world competition. The Falconets will now turn their attention to their next friendly match, against the Republic of Korea. A new meeting which will allow the Nigerian coach to make the final adjustments before his team enters the fray in this U20 Women’s World Cup.
