On Thursday, the mayor of the British capital, Sadiq Khan, clearly expressed his wish to see the duel held at Wembley Stadium. He also called on promoters to get in touch with London authorities to explore the conditions for organizing the event.
“A message to the organizers: we want the event to take place in London. Contact us, we are really very interested ,” Khan told BBC Sport. Wembley Stadium, accustomed to major boxing nights, thus appears as one of the preferred options to host this highly anticipated fight between the two former British world champions.
