The verdict came in Turin: Désiré Doué is officially the winner of the 2025 Golden Boy. The Italian newspaper Tuttosport, organizer of the prestigious trophy awarding the best European player under 21, revealed the name of Lamine Yamal’s successor during a conference held in the Piedmont Region tower.
Having arrived at PSG in the summer of 2024, the young French international quickly won over the Parc des Princes. Dazzling under Luis Enrique’s orders, Doué contributed to the Paris club’s historic season, which achieved an unprecedented quintuple: Ligue 1, Coupe de France, Ligue des champions, Trophée des champions et Supercoupe d’Europe. His technique, game vision and composure have impressed observers and coaches across Europe.
For Patrick Vieira, who had already praised him a few weeks earlier, “Désiré Doué is simply the best young player in the world.” On December 15 in Turin, the Parisian midfielder will join the very exclusive circle of Golden Boy legends, from Lionel Messi to Lamine Yamal. A new chapter opens for the French jewel.
