The Nigerian actress Regina Daniels announced her intention to pursue legal action against her ex-husband, the senator Ned Nwoko, as well as against anyone involved in what she describes as defamatory accusations related to alleged drug use.

In a video posted this Wednesday on her Instagram account, the actress broke her silence by revealing the results of medical tests conducted at a hospital in California. According to these documents, the tests for so-called “hard” drugs came back negative.

Visibly moved, Regina Daniels condemned what she considers a deliberate attempt to damage her public image. She says she decided to make these results public to put an end to the persistent rumors about her and to reassure her family and supporters.

“This move is not only aimed at restoring the truth, but also at protecting my children and preserving their pride when they will one day understand who I really am.”, she explained, adding that she has never used hard drugs, contrary to the online accusations.

The actress also warned that legal action would be taken “at the appropriate time” against the authors of these allegations, which she regards as false and destructive. As a reminder, these statements come nearly three months after Ned Nwoko publicly accused her of using illicit substances, a matter that has greatly fueled debates on social media and in Nigerian media.
