Nigerian singer Wizkid has made history in music by becoming the first African artist to reach the ten-billion-stream threshold on Spotify. The performer of Ojuelegba reached this symbolic milestone thanks to his total streams across all digital platforms, further confirming his status as a global Afrobeats icon. His collaboration with Canadian superstar Drake, alongside British singer Tyla, remains his most popular track, with nearly four billion streams.

His third studio album, Made In Lagos (Deluxe), is shaping up to be his most-streamed project on Spotify, surpassing one billion streams. As the lead artist, his most-streamed track remains Essence, featuring Tems, which totals over 333 million streams.

Additionally, Spotify has also set another major record: Birds Of A Feather by American singer Billie Eilish has become the most-streamed female solo song in the platform’s history, with 3.37 billion streams, dethroning Dance Monkey by Tones and I (3.3 billion).
