Winner of the Clásico in Jeddah, FC Barcelona will receive a prize of 2 million euros, compared with 1.4 million for Real Madrid, now focused on La Liga.

The prize money for the Spanish Super Cup, played last Sunday, has been released. Crowned after a spectacular final against Real Madrid (3-2) in Jeddah, FC Barcelona leaves with the largest share.

Led by a decisive Raphinha, who scored a brace, and by a goal from Robert Lewandowski, the Hansi Flick’s men took the upper hand over the Merengues to clinch the trophy. According to the daily AS, the Royal Spanish Football Federation will thus pay a 2 million euro prize to the Catalan club.

Unlucky finalist, Real Madrid will receive 1.4 million euros. The two giants of Spanish football will now head back to the Iberian Peninsula to refocus on La Liga. In the league, FC Barcelona currently sits at the top of the table, four points ahead of their Madrid rival, who is in second.
