Dakar didn’t sleep. After Senegal’s historic victory over Morocco in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final, the capital awoke to the rhythm of chants, honks, and a popular fervor worthy of the feat accomplished by Pape Thiaw’s men. The euphoria continued during the official ceremony held in honor of the new kings of African football.
Addressing the champions, the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, took care to salute“a success that honors the entire nation”. To mark the moment, the head of state announced a series of exceptional rewards. Each player on the national team will thus receive an individual bonus of 75 million CFA francs, along with the allocation of a 1,500 m² plot on the Petite Côte.
The leaders of the Senegalese Football Federation are not left out. They will each receive an allocation of 50 million CFA francs as well as a 1,000 m² plot in the same area. The other members of the delegation who contributed to this continental crown will, for their part, receive a 20 million CFA francs bonus along with a 500 m² plot.
To close this memorable day, a total allocation of 305 million CFA francs was also granted to the Ministry of Sports, intended to pay the bonuses for all its staff. A strong acknowledgment, signaling a Senegal now firmly perched on the roof of Africa.
