Benin’s team once again falls short of the final. Facing Uganda in the semi-final of the African Championship of School Football, the young Cheetahs delivered a brave performance, before succumbing in the penalty shootout (0-0, 4-3 on penalties). Against a Ugandan side renowned for its physical presence, the players of Benoît Dossou-Yovo showed resilience and discipline throughout the match. Unable to be separated in regulation time, the two teams had to rely on the dreaded penalties, which proved fatal for the Beninese.

As in the previous editions held in South Africa in 2023 and in Tanzania in 2024, Benin exits at the semi-final stage, confirming a frustrating pattern at this level. Despite this disappointment, the adventure is far from over. The young Beninese will have the opportunity to end their campaign on a positive note in the third-place playoff, with the aim of climbing onto the podium.
