Rwanda: Agricultural export revenues reach 1.1 billion dollars in 2025/2026
Rwanda’s agricultural exports generated $1.1 billion during the 2025/2026 fiscal year, according to the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB). This result represents an increase of about 24% compared to the $893.16 million recorded during the previous period.

The announcement was made on August 12 by NAEB, without specifying in the available information the distribution of revenues among the various agricultural sectors. The increase corresponds to a gain of about $206.8 million year-on-year.
Agriculture plays a central role in the Rwandan economy. The sector contributes nearly 20% of the gross domestic product and employs approximately 35% of the workforce, according to data provided by the authorities.
With this level of revenue, agricultural exports are approaching the targets set by Rwanda to strengthen foreign trade income and enhance the agricultural sector’s contribution to the economy. However, the available information does not yet specify the new targets or the timeline set by the authorities.
