The President of the Parti Démocratique de Côte d’Ivoire (PDCI-RDA), Tidjane Thiam, is likely to have renounced his French nationality, as revealed in the French Official Journal of Thursday, March 20, 2025.
According to the decree of March 19, 2025, signed by French Prime Minister François Bayrou, it states:
“Art. 2: Are released from their allegiance to France the French whose names follow: Thiam (Cheick, Tidjane), born 29/07/1962 in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) LIB, 2025 X 002699, dep. 99, Dt.009/8.”
This decision is part of his candidacy for the Ivorian presidential election scheduled for October 25.
