Premier League: Bruno Fernandes ties Cristiano Ronaldo’s record
Notching another decisive assist against Brentford, Bruno Fernandes has reached 140 contributions in the Premier League with Manchester United, equalling Cristiano Ronaldo’s total. A symbolic milestone reached faster than his countryman.

Bruno Fernandes is carving out a bigger place in Manchester United’s history. On Monday, the Red Devils’ captain matched a major benchmark held by Cristiano Ronaldo in the Premier League. Against Brentford FC, the Portuguese playmaker stood out by delivering a decisive assist to Benjamin Šeško, helping United to secure the win at Old Trafford, where Casemiro also found the back of the net.
This milestone takes Fernandes to 140 decisive contributions in the league (70 goals and 70 assists), the same total Ronaldo achieved in a Manchester United shirt (103 goals and 37 decisive assists), according to Opta data. A figure all the more remarkable since the former Sporting CP player reached this mark in 226 appearances, faster than his illustrious countryman. Having arrived in 2020, Fernandes thus confirms his central role in the Red Devils’ play and his lasting impact on the club’s performances.
