Parakou: four individuals arrested for desecration of graves at the central cemetery
On the night of Thursday, July 10, 2025, four individuals were apprehended by officers of the Republican Police while they were lurking around graves in the central cemetery of Parakou.

According to information relayed by Fraternité FM, the suspects, all from the surrounding neighborhoods, were caught red-handed in the act of digging up human remains. Their arrest was made possible thanks to the vigilance of local residents who reported suspicious activities in the area to the police.
Currently held in custody at the central police station of Parakou, the defendants will be subject to a thorough investigation to determine the extent of their actions and any possible connections.
This case bears a certain resemblance to a previous one. In December 2024, the caretaker of the Christian and Muslim cemeteries in Parakou was arrested in the commune of Toffo, suspected of complicity in a human organ trafficking network.
